Indonesia merupakan negara agraris karena sebagian besar penduduknya mempunyai mata pencaharian sebagai petani. Meskipun demikian, sistem irigasi di Indonesia masih banyak dilakukan dengan cara manual. Cara manual berarti membuka atau menutup sumber air dilakukan oleh para petani tanpa bantuan mesin. Dengan cara ini petani kesulitan untuk menjaga ketinggian air yang tepat pada setiap tingkat ladang jika terjadi perubahan debit air secara mendadak. Dalam makalah ini diajukan usulan sistem pengaturan ketinggian air pada ladang secara otomatis. Kasus yang dibahas sesuai dengan keadaan di Desa Tanjung Merawa Kec. Payung Sumatera Utara. Dengan sistem ini, ketinggian air pada setiap tingkat ladang dapat diatur sesuai kebutuhan.
Indonesia is an agricultural country since most of the population do farming for living. Despite this, most irrigation system in Indonesia is done manually. Manually means opening or closing the floodgate are being done without the help of machine. In this way, farmers have difficulty to maintain proper water level at each level of the fields in the event of a sudden change in water debit. In this paper, we propose a system for automatically control the proper water level. The case discussed is derived from the field located in Desa Tanjung Merawa Kec. Payung Sumatera Utara. The proposed control system can maintain proper water level as required.
