Implementasi Metode Dempster-Shafer dalam Mendiagnosis Kelainan Neurologis Berdasarkan Perbedaan Onset Nyeri

Abstract

Diseases of the brain, such as stroke, tumors, Alzheimer’s, and epilepsy, are severe conditions that require accurate diagnosis as the brain controls many of the body’s vital functions. Disorders of the brain can be fatal, so early detection is crucial. However, the diagnosis of neurological diseases is very complex. The number of neurologists in Indonesia is limited, with most experts centered on Java Island. Therefore, this study aims to create an expert system using the Dempster-Shafer method in diagnosing 7 types of neurological diseases based on 24 symptoms and 2 onsets of pain felt. Pain onset is characterized by pain that comes suddenly and slowly. The research stages include problem identification, data collection, method implementation, system design and testing, and result evaluation. System testing results showed 84% accuracy, with 21 out of 25 cases matching the expert’s diagnosis. Although there were some discrepancies, the Dempster-Shafer method proved reliable and potential because it produces high enough accuracy to help neurologists in the diagnostic process, especially in Indonesia.
