IT investment can help in achieving the vision of an organization. Good IT governance is carried out so that risks and losses can be prevented and at the same time to ensure that IT investments provide returns as expected. This study aims to measure the capability level and determine the gap between expectations and the current conditions of IT governance implementation. The research location was conducted at IAIN Salatiga. Capability level measurement in this study focused on Academic Information System (Siakad) services. This study used a quantitative descriptive method, while the data were obtained from interviews and questionnaires that had been adjusted to the domain in the Cobit 5 Framework. The results of this study indicated that the Siakad capability level at IAIN Salatiga has reached level 1, level 2, and level 3 of 18 sub identified domains. However, there is still a gap between the capability level and the expectation in all sub-domains. The biggest gap is in the evaluated, direct, and monitor domains. This suggested that the IT governance of Siakad requires important improvements.
