Abstract

Vegetarian is meatless food. Vegetarian are consumed by people for various reasons, it’s keeping us from various diseases, avoiding obesity, reducing the percentage of pollution, and preventing animal hunting. Batam city is one of the places that is rich in vegetarianism. We can find vegetarian restaurant easily in Batam city, such as cafes, coffee shops, food courts or restaurants. However, there are also people who are open vegetarian restaurant in their own home which are only small places so that it is difficult for common people to know. Therefore, this study aims to develop an application that displays a map of the location of vegetarian eating places in Batam. A web-based Geographic Information System application is developed to find the coordinates of vegetarian restaurant in Batam city using the Google Map’s API. Through this application, users can search various vegetarian restaurant in Batam from the closest to the farthest distance.

Vegetarian adalah makanan tanpa daging. Vegetarian dikonsumsi oleh orang-orang karena berbagai alasan. Dimulai dari menjauhkan dari berbagai penyakit, menghindari obesitas, menurunkan persentase polusi, hingga mencegah terjadi pemburuan hewan. Kota batam adalah salah satu tempat yang kaya vegetarian. Tempat-tempat makan vegetarian dapat dengan mudah ditemukan di kota Batam, seperti cafe, kedai kopi, food court ataupun restoran. Namun, ada juga yang membuka tempat makan vegetarian di rumah sendiri yang hanya merupakan tempat kecil saja, sehingga sulit untuk diketahui oleh orang-orang umum. Oleh karena itu, penelitian yang akan dilakukan oleh penulis memiliki tujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah aplikasi yang menampilkan peta lokasi tempat-tempat makan vegetarian yang terdapat di kota Batam. Sebuah aplikasi Sistem Informasi Geografis berbasis web dikembangkan untuk mengetahui titik-titik koordinat dari berbagai tempat makan vegetarian di kota Batam dengan menggunakan API dari Google Map. Melalui aplikasi ini, para pengguna dapat mencari berbagai tempat makan vegetarian di Batam dari yang jarak terdekat hingga jarak terjauh.
