ANALISA SWOT BISNIS USAHA PETERNAKAN AYAM RAS PETELUR DI BOYOLALI JAWA TENGAH

ABSTRACT
Layer chicken farm is one of an attractive agribusiness sector in Indonesia. This business is based on the demand of chicken egg in Indonesia, especially on Boyolali, Central Java. The demand of egg in Boyolali Central Jaya has been increase constantly. This study aims to analyse the strength, weakness, opportunities, and threat of the layer chicken farm and determine the most appropriate strategies for implementation. The study is done by observation on one of the layer farmers around Boyolali. The strength and weakness of layer chicken farm evaluated from the internal factors of the farms, while opportunities and threats evaluated from the external factors that affecting the farms. Those factors identified then analysed by Strength Weakness Opportunity and Treat (SWOT) matrix. The results show that the constant increase on chicken egg demand is the big opportunity to this insutry and no other substitutes that affects significantly. While the fluctuating price of chicken egg identified as the threat. The internal factor that affects chicken farm are the farmers experience and knowledge in implementation of the business strategy. And the the result of SWOT analysis is several strategies can be done in implementation of chicken farms are improve the product quality and quantity beside the pricing strategy, design and improve the farm and create a standar operational procedure as effectively and efficiently as possible.
ABSTRAK
Peternakan ayam petelur merupakan salah satu jenis usaha pada sektor agribisnis yang menjanjikan di Indonesia. Hal ini didasarkan pada permintaan telur ayam di Indonesia, khususnya di daerah Boyolali, Jawa Tengah. Permintaan telur ayam di daerah Boyolali, Jawa Tengah memiliki kecenderungan terus menerus meningkat secara konstan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman dari peternakan ayam petelur di Boyolali Jawa Tengah dan menentukan strategi yang paling tepat untuk diimplementasikan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati salah satu peternak telur di daerah Boyolali. Kekuatan dan kelemahan peternakan ayam petelur dievaluasi dari faktor internal peternakan, sementara peluang dan ancaman dievaluasi dari faktor eksternal yang memengaruhi peternakan. Faktor-faktor tersebut kemudian dianalisis dengan matriks Strength Weakness Opportunity and Treat (SWOT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan konstan pada permintaan telur ayam dan tidak ada pengganti lain yang mempengaruhi secara signifikan. Sehingga kondisi ini diidentifikasikan sebagai peluang dalam usaha peternakan ayam petelur. Sementara harga telur ayam yang berfluktuasi menjadi sebuah ancaman. Sementara faktor internal yang paling mempengaruhi perencanaan strategi pada usaha peternakan ayam petelur adalah pengalaman dan pengetahuan peternak dalam mengimplementasikan bisnis yang sebenarnya. Sebagai hasil dari analisis SWOT adalah beberapa strategi dapat dilakukan dalam implementasi peternakan ayam yaitu peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas produk. Dengan peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas produk, diharapkan penjualan telur dapat terus meningkat. Selain peningkatan kualitas dan kuantitas produk, strategi lain yang diharapkan dapat diimplementasikan adalah menetapkan desain kandang ayam serta penetapan Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) seefektif dan seefisien mungkin.Downloads
